strangers

07 August 2021

Written by Jada

she’s made more friends

in my hometown

in the last six weeks

than i’ve made my entire life

I watch her perform my own dreams right in front of me

I let everyone else dance around me

will I always be a stranger in my home?

do they know that every time I speak

I’m giving a piece of myself away?
