one day I’ll be able to use your love

to finally go for a run.

I’ll use your love to find a new therapist,

and start being honest with my mom.

one day I’ll use your love to marie kondo my bedroom

but for now I sleep on pillows without cases,

because I’m too heartbroken to make the bed

for now I cover all my mirrors

so I don’t have to see the damage that you’ve done

and I‘ll get sick every weekend,

a reflection of my heart

for now, I lay down in the shower

and weighted blanket my feelings

for now I’ll wrap my love in cardboard boxes

and store it on a high shelf

I’ll change the locks,

I’ll clean the windows,

and I’ll find comfort in knowing

someday I’ll learn how to stop picking up
